About Us

Wayne Achelpohl started Achelpohl Roofing & Sheetmetal, Inc. in 1984. His brother Lance Achelpohl was involved in the business later until he passed away in 2005. Wayne's children Amanda & David now own and operate the business.

Amanda started working at Achelpohl Roofing & Sheetmetal, Inc. when she was in high school, doing shop drawings and submittals after taking CAD Drafting courses. She now handles all of the estimating, in addition to still doing submittals, among other things. Amanda is on the Board of Trustees for the Carolina's Roofing & Sheetmetal Contractors Self Insurer's Fund and she is an active member of the Columbia, SC Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Outside of work, Amanda is an animal lover who fosters dogs, and considers herself a homesteader. She also loves spending time with her husband and her son.

David started working in the shop in high school, and then worked on different crews on the roof to gain roofing experience. He now acts as a Project Manager doing scheduling, ordering materials, and keeping track of everything in the field. Outside of work David enjoys hunting and spending time with his family.
